I am a white male American, age 63. Unfortunately, I must confirm the report that this individual is a scam artist. Vladimir makes contact by e-mail, responding to gay dating site ads of persons seeking life partners to select his victims. He tells of a hard life, struggling on little income from his employment (he told me he was a roofer, but that may vary) and he tells about the needs of his mother and sisters.   At first, there is no hint of money as he attempts to gain trust over time. Then, rather suddenly, he indicates that he can not live without you and follows up with a list of various expensive schemes to get him to America, many involving his obtaining the services of "firms" that will provide false documents as a cover for his U.S. admission. When that does not work, he proffers less expensive schemes--the one I foolishly bought into involved a supposed "American" company (it isn't, although it does have a web site saying it is) that will set him up with an American company who will sponsor his coming to American to work. He, of course, promises to repay the expense out of his earnings once he has arrived in this country. He then thinks of other little things that are necessary until you have sent him the maximum that Western Union will permit within 30 days, $999. Any questions you ask him in your correspondence about things that do not quite ring true about his story go unanswered. Below are one of his early letters and the first letter presenting the scheme for getting money and photos. Clay

Dear Clay! I am glad to receive your friendly and interesting mail and beautiful photo. Reading your words and seeing your picture I was very much pleased and impressed! First of all I am so much sorry that I can't write you as often as I want. My access to the Internet is possible from the post office only. Here in Ukraine Internet is of big rarity that's why I have to visit Internet center at the main post office to be able to write you and read your messages. And it is also very expensive for me, that's why I can't afford to go there more often. But I promise to write you more intensively, so you can know me better from my letters. And e-mail is the best way for us - in compare with snail mail. I've found out that air mail letter posted from our country will arrive the States in two weeks! So, thanks Internet we are able to stay in touch on more regular basis. I live in modest hostel for workers of the enterprise where I work too. I share this room with two guys. But it seems that we'll have to share it with another one next week. The rent of flat in Kiev is very expensive. That's why I can't even think about it. To rent small and modest 1-room apartment (without bath-room and phone and away from city center) costs at least 250 US Dollars per month. This amount is over my salary, so I have to stay in the hostel. But I live in the capital since 1995 this way and I am not complain. Many young people from the whole country do the same. After nine years of studying in the secondary school in my native town of Bakhmach, in September 1995 I moved to the Ukrainian capital located not far from my home town, and entered professional school for house-builders including roofers, masons, house-painters.  I've got my professional education in May 1998 and was mobilized to the army for one and half year. I had my army service in Kherson Region, this is in Southern Ukraine. Since November 1999 when I came back from the army I work in Kiev as roofer. Now in our capital many beautiful modern houses are built, that's why my job is required. I've also got the second education as entrepreneur of English via correspondence courses. I hope it will help me with my job in the future.  Here in the capital there are many foreign companies building new houses, however now I am working for domestic enterprise. That's why my salary is quite modest, but to get job in the foreign company I'll have to get more working experiences: three years of my work as roofer aren't enough for them. My job could be dangerous sometimes, but I don't drink alcohol at all. Most events happened because my job coleagues were drunk at working place. I do like my job a lot, but I expect that in the future I'll get better education and I'll work as lawyer or finansist. I do not have found many friends in Kiev - I keep contact with my job colleagues, but most of them are strange to this city as I am. I don't have any gay friends and I am not out to anyone around me. There are some venues here - one bar and two discotheques with "mixed" public. But I am probably too shy to contact people there. I was several times in the bar, and the guys were extremely feminine and screamy.  Because most gay people here have to live in closet, only most visible gays goes there. It is almost impossible for openly-gay person to get job or to avoid discrimination in my country. My dream is to find true love in free country like USA. I'll be happy to share all my life with true love. I was thinking a lot about it before I contacted you via gay.com. I hope my sincerity doesn't hurt you. In case it does, please let me know.  In my free time I visit some pop-concerts and street festivals - they are often on the main square of the capital in summer time. And they are for free. Also in free time I like to visit Hydropark. This is very beautiful place where people swimming and sun-bathing. I also like music, reading and sports, including soccer and ice hockey.  My favorite music is disco of 70's like Village People, Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer, etc. I like to read novels and my favorite writers are Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Chekhov, Mark Twain, Jack London, O'Henry, etc. I don't have TV in the hostel room I live in. But it helps me to spend my free time more intensive.  I'm looking forwards to get your reply. I have found out the possibilities to make our meeting for real.  Although it is not easy to obtain US visa for Ukrainian citizens, there are companies which may assist in this difficult issue. The travel agencies have their useful connections in the embassy. I have found out several travel companies that may prepare my trip to you.  The only question is how long would you like me to stay. Because there are several possibilities for us to meet.  I may come to you for two week as tourist, and such trip is definitely less expensive. I may also come with opened one month visa that is possible to prolong in America for next two months, in case we both will want it.  And the absolutely different way for us to meet is business trip: I may come on basis of business visa which could be open for one year. This variant is obviously the most expensive one, but in perspective one year visa may save us from necessity to buy next tours for our next meetings. The lowest price for two week tourist trip I've found is 950 Dollars, inclusive two weeks US tourist visa, Ukrainian international passport, medicine insurance (obligatory for getting tourist visa) and two-way flight tickets. This tour will be prepared in five working days. The flight could be ordered to New-York. However if you think that we could take a chance to know us longer than just for two weeks, I would write the price of other possibilities. The one month trip is all the same, only the US visa is different. This visa gives me possibility to stay with you for maximal three months, because it may be prolonged in America for two additional months. But as I've been told the prolongation is very complicated though. The preparation time of this trip is seven working days and the lowest price I've found out is 2090 US Dollars. The light could be ordered to  New-York as well. The other thing was that I've spoken with travel operators and they explained to me that the tour prices are such high because the tour includes hotel reservation. Without prior hotel reservation it is  not possible to obtain any tourist visa to your country. But they told me that if I shall not need hotel room in the States it will be easy refundable fee on the American territory.  So it will be about 400 Dollars you'll get back after my arrival in case we'll cancel hotel reservation in two week trip that I wrote you about, or about 900 Dollars in case we cancel the hotel reservation of one month trip.  This means that actual prices for both trips are definitely less: approximately 550 and 1190 accordingly two weeks and one month, but to obtain US tourist visa the pre-paid hotel reservation is obligatory.  Business visa for one year could be ordered via the mediatory agency, but not via travel agent. The US law requires from the applicants for business visa to prove several positions:  - they must run successful well-known big business in their country;  - they must have at least 100.000 Dollars on their private account; - they must own expensive real estate in this country which would prevent them to stay in the USA for longer time than their visa is valid. For fee the mediatory agency could prepare the documents for me to proceed business visa. This type of visa could be much better because I'll be able to work and pay back my debt to you as fast as I can.  They will make me the co-owner of very big well-known enterprise, create such bank account (from which I won't be able to take anything because this amount will be there as my debt to them), and "sell for me the real estate" - also in debt. After the visa is proceeded I just formally pay back my debts to them, it means that they get back money and house and they exclude me from the list of co-owners of the business.  This is very stabile service and they do it successfully. It takes two weeks for all formalities. Their mediatory fee is 3.000 Dollars, but it includes preparation of credit card Visa Gold with minimal possible deposit of 1.000 Dollars which is possible to get back after closing the credit card. That's why their pure mediatory fee is 2.000 Dollars afterwards. And important thing is that they prepare via Ministry of Foreign Affairs special Ukrainian VIP travel passport for me. This VIP passport is also required to request business visa. With this passport is much easier to travel than with ordinary Ukrainian international passport. Business visa can be opened for one year, and after a year it can be re-opened or changed for any other type of visa already in USA. With this kind of visa I can study and work in the USA legally.  This is big difference from the standard tourist visa that can be prepared by travel agency. And in this case I shall be able to work and pay back my debt to you immediately when I'll earn money for it. I have described the ways we can be together really soon and for sure. For me the great honor will be if you chose one of them, because I truly hope that you'll let us meet.  Unfortunately Ukrainian enterprises have to pay 30 per cent state tax for any payments from foreign companies and citizens. Furthermore the travel agencies are allowed to accept payment from the Ukrainian citizens only for trips from Ukraine to foreign countries. That's why they recommended me Western Union. It's the only legal money transfer firm from abroad to Ukraine without paying 30 per cent of state tax for incoming money. I will be very much grateful to you in case you could help us to meet each other. Hello, My name is Gene. I am a 35 year old white male and I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am a Senior Account Executive with a large printing firm. My story is very similar to Eric's. This woman contacted me initially via match.com and then the contacts came from chupsinka@toxa.net. Thank goodness that I did not send any money, although I was only about 5 minutes from doing so. When I didn't send the money for the plane ticket, the e-mails stopped. I am including the e-mail in which she claimed to need more money for her plane ticket.

But now I have no any pleasure. Only tears. And the second news: My visas firm can reserve tickets, and I used its services again. I asked them how I can reach Miami and how much it costs. They answered me that that the ticket costs $1531.94 USD. I asked them to find cheaper tickets, because this price is expensive for me. They answered that they had a cheaper ticket but the beginning of the flight 17-Sep It costs $ 1360.50. I asked them to reserve a ticket. But they refused. I spoke with them for a long time but they didn't agree. Then I wondered if it is possible to pay a part of the money now and the other part later. They didn't agree. I spoke with them for a long time and I managed to persuade them. They agreed. We agreed that I would pay a part of the price Today and the other part later. I have been compelled pawned in pawnshop my silver and gold embellishments which I have from Masha. I have received for it in pawnshop 310 USD. It has sufficed for an  initial payment. I paid $.858.50 USD. It was my last money. Beware of this woman. I contacted Natalia Myachina through Absoluteagency. I was careful to ask  for phone number and address. She responded with both. Her English was  quite good and she sounded very innocent and sweet. After three months of  email letters and telephone calls I proposed a meeting. Her behavior became  ugly when I refused to send money. I proposed to go to her city (Kurgan,  Russia) for a personal meeting. She insisted that I send $450 for airfare  to Moscow or St Petersburg for a meeting. She stated that it would be  easier for me and better for our meeting. She continuously asked for a  Western Union transfer. I did not want to send money to someone I had never  met. I continuously proposed a meeting in Kurgan. If all was well, we  ould travel to  another city. Soon she became livid and condescending on  the telephone. Here are the first and last letters I received from Natalia  Myachina...
