This is, I suppose, a follow up to another post on page blacklist page 205, November 27, 2003. I am 29 years old and divorced. I was contacted by a Russian woman from the email address: anna_ h_u@front.ru after placing a personals ad on Yahoo.com. The letters sounded sincere but I was a bit skeptical by her seemingly over willingness to come to me in the United States. Very shortly after that she professed her undying love for me. With every letter she would send a picture, which was actually what gave her away. It was just pure curiosity about learning what it would take to bring her here that lead me to this web site, and luck that I found her on the blacklist before I was out anything other than some time. Here are the letters:

The time zone of Kazan is GMT+6. Our City Kazan is one of the beautiful cities of Russia, I like my wonderful City very much. There are many beautiful streets, squares and other sights in our city. But it's so cold here, the frosts force the people to go on the streets in the warm clothes, and what about your weather? Is it for cold or warmly? Also I want to say to you, that I have an access to Internet by the computer which is situated in an cabinet of our boss here in our bar, because I don't have a computer in my home, and I have asked the sanction at our director for my using of the Internet, and he permitted me to use the computer in a free time from my job. But I was in huge delight from a reading of th book S. King 'The Dark Tower', in my opinion, it's very interesting book, where the main hero Roland is a purposeful man, he goes to the purpose, to a dark tower, and I like the quality of Roland is the purposefulness! I consider, that this one of the important qualities of any man. I hope what you will agree with me, really, Travis? About food? Ok, from the favourite food dishes, I want to allocate a fried potatoes, various kind of the soups, also I like a meat too, I don't want to hide it from you:) I like the fish and chicken very much, do you like the chicken? Travis, I want to say to you that your messages became an important part of me and my life, your e-mails help me live, I don't have boring mood in general, but it there comes when is bad weather in the street when it's coldly. Frank wanted to submit to court on this Service, but Natasha reconvinced Frank to not submit to court on this Service. So this beautiful gifts was lost without a trace, Travis. From this my dear Travis, please, don't send me anything by the any Post Services, ok? I don't want that will happen as it was happen with Frank and Natasha. This email was sent the same day Marina picked up the money at Western Union. I found out later from Western Union that she had picked up the money at a location in a bank in Moscow. After several days had passed and I had received no emails from Maria, Like any person in love would do, I decided I need to see if she was fine or what was going on. I thought perhaps I could find a police station close to her address in Izhevsk. So I entered her street address into an internet search engine and the results brought up two links about her.

One was to a forum about Izhevsk where some other guys had posted things about her. The other link was to a scammer website where she was listed as a possible scammer. I decided to find out more so I listed some comments on the Izhevsk forum page and since then I have at least 2 -3 people a day e-mailing me about her and asking what I know. I know that a there are others who were scammed by Marina but only posted comments because of embarrassment. In her email, Marina makes mention to her friend Mariya who is with her in one of the photos and an aunt Yuliya who was never in any pictures. I did some extensive searches for travel photos in comparison to the back grounds in her images. The pictures of her on the boat were taken in Moscow on a boat that gives rides on the river there. The pictures of Marina in her floral dress were actually taken in Kiev. The balcony shot is from an apartment in what I believe is called Independence Square area in Kiev. The other shot is taken in the street in Kiev. If this is wrong then let me know, but I have photos that prove what I say. Marina Nikitina is at best guess still in Moscow right now. I had sent her letters to her postal address in Izhevsk but none have been returned so far? As of today she is still using the same letters and same email address. I have filed a scam report with Western Union and I am in the process of sending out my registered letters to the respective authorities here in the USA and in Russia. Hi, my name is Aaron and I am from Huntington Beach, Ca. I was emailed a reply to my profile on yahoo personals. I read the message and saw that is was a lady from Russia. Very interesting I thought. So I went to go and look for her profile because in order to email me on that profile, you have to pay. I found no profile and thought that was wierd. So I emailed her (or it) and told them I can't find a picture or profile and you need to send one if you want to talk more. Two days later i got an email and it was very interesting. If you want to read the emails she sent, you can see the exact same letter word for word under the name (on the blacklist) as Elena Maksimova or Anna Milchakova from Kazan, Russia. But my girls name was Masha. No last name or I should say not yet. Anyway, this lady made a few mistakes on her letter when she put in different names and how old she was. Obviously, they suck at this because i could have done better. First of all,! her name was Masha and she had 2 sisters named Katya and Masha. I thought that was wierd that her other sister was Masha too. So I emailed her back and low and behold she said she made a mistake and her sisters name was Dasha. Well, I am sorry that you never make a mistake 2 times on the same letter about your sister. Now that was # 1 mistake...and # 2 mistake is that she said she was 30 yrs old and her happy birthday was June 5, 1974. Well according to my stats, she would be 29 right now...Duh!!! And that is when I looked into this and saw this black list. Awesome awesome blacklist guys. There i found the exact same letters word for word and now have proof of this scam. SO GUYS OUT THERE, DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON THE INTERNET HERE. !! I got up to 3 emails and it looks like the next one will be asking for the money. She has my phone # now, but I told her never to call collect because its too expensive. I haven't heard from her since and that was 4 days ago. But, if I see another email....i will play her game too....How fun is that!!!!! All in all , be smart and don't fall in love over the internet until you actually meet them. I have been doing this internet for 4 yrs now and you will run into anything imaginable on here. It's psyco world out there. Good luck and open your eyes people. Olga Mokan & Vera Friendship Community (Odessa, Ukraine)

I am a single, white American male, 40 years old and an IT professional. In July 2001 I began to correspond with Olga Mokan in Odessa, Ukraine. I met Olga through American Singles. At the time of our correspondence, Olga's profile was placed on American Singles by the agency Ukrainian Pearls. This list contains a complaint against them from January 2002. I stopped checking the Black List for listings against Ukrainian Pearls in late 2001, so I never saw the other complaint. If I had seen it, it would have saved me a lot of wasted time, money and heartache. In early 2002, the agency changed its name to the Vera Friendship Community. It's at http://www.vfco.net. Here is an excerpt from a letter I received early on requesting money for correspondence. This is typical of letters I received. Rarely was there a direct request for money. Usually there was only a hint that something terrible had happened because she had no money. I was told by the agency after I received this letter that I had the option of paying for my correspondence with Olga if I wanted to continue to write to her.

Letters:

In the last letter I wrote you about my harms, which I dealt with. I have to work more and besides that my payment became less. The chief says it is temporary. As soon as he arranges all financial problems he will pay as much as we shall merit. I am very upset and cannot find the suitable words to describe this awful state of affairs. In my pocket there are so few money that I have no opportunity to write frequently to you. I shall really miss getting letters from you and how not easy it will be for me not writing more frequently. It is cruel when you find the close person, near with which you forget about weekdays and think only of holidays, when you find the man with frank feelings towards you and you have not to write to him because of the causes not depending on you. [ ... ] I ask you do not forget me, while I will not able to write you. I hope all things will be organized soon and we will correspond with each other as often as we both want. Good-bye Jason. Over the course of our relationship, I sent her an average of $200 a month to pay her rent while she was "not working". I spent over $4000 in total in payments through Western Union to Olga. Here is an excerpt from a letter requesting that I send her sister rent money while Olga was off working on a cruise ship in September-October of 2002. This was unusual in that she rarely made a direct request for money. It wasn't until after Olga stopped writing to me that someone I know in Odessa told me that her rent was certainly less than $100 a month.

Dear, I have one more request. If you won't be to do this for me, I'll understand. I need your help. You are my very close and dear person and I didn't want to ask somebody another for this. At the beginning of the next month Natasha and I have to pay for our apartment, other wise we can loose it. If it will happen so it will be very difficult and much more expensive to find another one. I would be very grateful to you Jason if you can help me now. I will get the money only at the end of my working and then will be able to pay. I feel so ill at ease to ask you for this, but there is nobody here who could help me to pay.

I went to visit Olga in May and November of 2002. I had hoped to propose to her on my trip in November, but when I began to talk about marriage, she became uncomfortable and told me that her father was opposed to our relationship and she needed time to work this out. I agreed to give her some time to work this out. Two weeks before my planned return in May of 2003, I received an email from Olga stating her father had forced her to agree to work on a cruise ship for 6 months to keep us apart and she had to agree to this, but we would marry in secret after her return. I became suspicious and contacted a person in Odessa that I trusted and asked this person to look into it. I was able to contact someone who used to work for the Vera Friendship Community. She said that the Vera Friendship Community is a scam agency and the girls affiliated with it get paid 10% of any money they bring in. Olga really did take a job on a cruise ship, but the story about her father making her take it was a lie. She took the job because she wanted to take it. Since Olga was making money off our lengthy correspondence, she had a great incentive to prolong it as much as possible. I never heard from her again. I was told that the girls like Olga never or almost never write the email that supposedly comes from them. Someone at the agency writes the email on behalf of the girl. From time to time they ask the girls for personal details to keep the emails realistic. I was told that the supposed ageny owner, Ivan Krachun (see the other Black List posting for Ukrainian Pearls) does not exist and is a front for the true agency owners, two guys named Vadim and Ruslan. I met both of them, but was told that they had no connection at all to the agency. This is a rather unique scam in that the agency and the women work together to deceive men. The women know that the agency is dishonest, but because they make money off the scamming, they go along with it. I never received a message of any kind from the agency after September 6.

I have told my story on a few email lists for men looking for women in the former Soviet Union and because of that, I was contacted by another guy who also was scammed by Olga and the Vera Friendship Community for almost the same length of time I was. My sources in Odessa tell me that Olga has accepted long term employment on a cruise ship and only returns to Odessa for a few days every few months. The other guy who was being scammed continued to receive letters from "Olga" after she left Odessa to work on the ship. It is obvious that the agency is continuing the correspondence. I suppose that the fact that Olga is rarely in Odessa will probably keep her from personally scamming other guys, but I have no doubts that the Vera Friendship Community will continue to post her profile on free web sites and wait for other suckers to respond to it.
