I have thought numerous times about writing this letter. I have decided to inform your agency of a scam that I was involved in.
I have been writing with a lady for three weeks who supposedly was from Danetsk. She said she just finished medical school and was working in a childrens hospital in Kromorsk (sp). She was very convincing and very intelligent. She did not ask for money nor did she seem interested in leaving Ukraine. She only seemed interested in finding her man. I had 2 phone conversations and the English was very good with a slight English accent. I did not find that odd due to many universities in Ukraine have British English instuctors. The last communication I received from her was on Saturday May 8, 2004 and she told me that she was going to go to a travel agent and check on plans to come to US for a visit. She stated that she had Lativian passport and member of eurounion. From that point I never recieved another email from her. Faithfully I continued to write her and thought that she might have been in some harm. No response. Last night I recieved and email from this person. It stated that she did not want to break my heart. That she was not the person I was lead to believe. She was part of a scam. She stated that she could not continue with the scam with me because she was growing attached to me. She stated that I was one of the nicest, sweetest men she had ever meet and could not continue to deceive me. I guess the main reason I write this letter is to inform all that even the best scam artist have a heart, and sometimes good people in search of their true life partners are left untouched. I am writing about a message in
recieved in my profile at Yahoo Personals. I am single and live in
Central New York. I am not a paying member at Yahoo, only have a
profile, and rarely get messages. This one was short, in broken
english and expressed interest in me. I replied and was sent an
introductory letter about this girl, Svetlana. I have attached a few
pictures. This went on for about 3 weeks, daily, monday-friday The
letters asked my view on women, children, generally about things in
this country. She also told a little bit about her. One thing
strange is that most of my questions went unanswered by her. She
very rarely answered, it was a though she did not acknowlege my
question. After about 2 weeks, there was talk about an extended
visit from her, also her attraction to me and falling in love with
me. The pictures were almost daily, but not every day. They were
also not overly revealing. My thought was - how can she be in love
with me, with only emailing for two or so weeks. Finally after 3
weeks, she said her parents would take care of the tickets, but the
visa and passport through a travel agency would be $750. I did some
investigating on the cost of visa and passport, it is expensive but
not that much. In my investigation, I ran into this russian woman
dating site and blacklist. I have not sent any money. I did also
locate one of the pictures she sent on the blacklist, listed under
Masha. I would not have believed it, but there it was. Basically the
story was initial interest in me, professing her attraction to me
and how she wanted to visit and fall in love.
Letters:
Hi mine dear Dave. I am very glad again to read your letter. I already begin to miss without you. We are familiar a little to time, and it seems, that I know you for a long time. Today with the friends I plan to go in evening club, it is a little to have a rest from work. It is a pity, that you will not be with me a line. You will not suffice to me. You will not suffice to me. But I hope, that time soon will come, when we can have these things together. I very much think of this day. I found some addresses of travel companies in my city. Soon I plan to go there and to learn, how it is better to us to organize our meeting. It seems, that many men love to waste time houses at the TV set, to look football or boxing. Than you love to be engaged per usual days from work? She agrees, that it is necessary to me to travel to you on some time. She has told, that if we shall like each other and we shall decide, that we want to be close each other, she will get acquainted with the large pleasure with you and to invite you in the house as though son. I am very glad, that we have progress in our relations. Lovely Dave, inform, whether your businesses and circumstances allow you to accept me a bit later? I hope, that I shall not create to you inconvenience in your businesses. At me the large desire to see you. The agent of travel has told, that tomorrow I can receive the information, how I can be helped by a travel company in organization of travel to you. Hey Guys! The woman keeps trying and I am sure she has a few success but not by me. I am single man divorced with one child. I am currently in an engagement with a wonderful Ukrainian woman and we are working on our papers now for her arrival. However I have received many emails for a woman claiming to be Veronika Vasileva, I happened to check your scam report and found two other referals of the same woman. Svetlana Gaevskaya (Syktyvkar, Russia and Svetlana Yureyna Gaevskaya 26-11 Mayakovskogo Street Syktyvkar, Russia AKA: Diana Ivanova: Svet: Girlligt_33@fromRu.com: InnaPassion@Yahoo.com. For me her alias is Veronika Vasileva verochka_2004@list.ru. Same mode of operation many letters and speaks of love and trust. No need to bore you with the letters, you need to see the photos and remember her face. She contacted me by Yahoo profile. This is standard visa, travel tickets scam. Good luck gentleman.

Hi my name is Troy. This girl found me on www.othersingles.com. Here profile(julia7) said she was living in Riga, Latavia, and 27. She was using the email of jul_j@mail15.com. I found her on the scam web by plugging in the name of her friends, Alex and Oksana, along with "Russia" and "scam". It popped up with the same basic letters. Also, on the second letter to her, I asked for her address, phone number, and the name of her work (some cafe). She never answered any of those questions. I had written an email to Edward, the site admin of othersingles.com but he will only delete a profile if they asked for money on his site. Scammers are using his site like a direct mail list for email addresses. There are getting create with stories and getting pics to make the stories look real. Beware.

As for me during the weekends, in my free time, we are with my girlfriends, also with Alex and Oksana sometime, go for a walk to the city, we like to sit in cafe too for a cup of the tea. I like my girlfriends very much, especially my best girlfriend Oksana. She is as native sister for me! By the way I want to say to you that Oksana works as a waitress in our bar too. Also I want to say to you that Oksana and Alex live in Orenburg City now. Oksana have visited Alex to France at last time, Alex asked Oksana to visit him in France after that when they have understood that they love each other. I remember, Oksana was so happy in this time. They lived together during two month in France. And then they have came to Russia, to Orenburg City too, simply, Oksana said to Alex that she have missed about her parents, and that she want to visit on some time her parents, and they came to Orenburg from France. They are very happy together, they love each other very much, I envy to Oksana and Alex slightly :) and also, of course, we meet with each other sometimes and spend a lot of time together.
