Hi I am a 50 something year old man that was contacted through American singles by Valentina Shportenko. Letters below She was sweet and warm with lots of details about her daily life. She answered some questions but ignored questions regarding my views on having more children I did not want any and she would not respond other things like the life in the U.S. how could she leave her family etc. no response. She would take no gifts and only spoke of how she was thinking of me and how nice it would be when we would meet. She said she would answer no questions with the word IF in it. Anyway this was a rather short period of time and one of her letters stated that she had found a 1704 1 ruble under the floor board of her of her aunts one during thee usual 3 weeks cleaning, she said that she had been to a coin merchant and they told her it was worth between 4- $ 600.00 U.S. She said that she was going to put it away for a special time. She sent many photos _ some below, some were touched up some were not. She has a sad story about her mother dying at birth how she took care of her father and how after awhile he created a new family how she no lives with her aunt. She sees her father on weekends and has had only 2 un-rewarding relationships, which she goes into some detail. She is very believable and has a very simplistic way of speaking that makes one think of less complicated times. She works at the largest store in town and was liked my everyone. She says she new a girl who meet a man over the internet and after one month of e-mails she went for a month to visit him in U.S.(she lost her friends e-mailv)she tells in detail how happy her friend was with the older American man and that Russian men were mean and drank to much she said she though about this for a year and then tried it by contacting me. She is VERY GOOD at this. I told her I was concerned about how she would actually get a visa to come here ( I think it is almost impossible without meeting the person first I am not sure) and she ignored it. After seeing your web page and seeing some identical wording in here initial letters as from others on your site I confronted her. With the information. She e-mailed back that I had insulted her and she was not going to talk to me again. I felt that maybe I had blown it because I had in fact been quite direct and if it was not a scam I probably would have been insulted myself. I did e-mail one more time explaining the need for a smart person to ask these questions and that I was truly sorry if I had offended her. She did not responded. I figured it was probably for the best since just last week I was in her dreams . Yesterday I got a e-mail from one of my other e-mail address under a different name There was a e-mail from Valentina with the same old story she did not realize she had e-mailed me, her e-mail address was different but I know they are both active. I am sending some of her e-mails with her address included and her other e-mail address.. I am no fool I was not out looking for Russian women and I must tell you BE CAREFUL they are good. Yulia Gorohova (Aksakovo, Russia) a_k_a_Vladimir Islamov andWings Travel Agency (Ufa, Russia)
I am a 52 year old divorced male in the USA. This scammer first contacted me on March 22, 2005 through the Yahoo personals website. The phoney profile said she was from Brooklyn, NY. The profile was deleted within in a couple of days. When I wrote to her and found out for sure this was from Russia I questioned about the discrepancy and got no response. The e-mail address used to contact her was girlsfine@yandex.ru. This one claimed to be a 35 year old surgeon named Yulia Gorohova. This scam developed quickly. After only 3 letters within on week she had fallen madly in love with me and said that a travel agency would contact me with details about her coming to see me and how I could pay for it. This scam closely resembles another one I dealt with in December. The report of that scam (Nataliya Nagornova) is on Black List page 324. As in the other scam I was not asked to send money to the woman but received an e-mail from a travel agency called (in this case) Wings Travel Agency (wings-travel@narod.ru) saying there were acting on her behalf and I should send them $986 to cover visa, passport and airfare. They said they could have her on a plane to me by April 10. As in the other scam they said I could transfer funds from my bank to theirs (It was the exact same bank account information in Ekaterinburg with the same receiver name: MAKAROV). Or, they said I could send it by Western Union or Money Gram addressed to an individual named Vladimir Islamov in Ufa. (In the other scam it was to go to a Yuriy Vorobyov in Surgut.) Both of these scams had virtually identical official looking e-mails (only the names, logos, addresses and phone numbers were different.) They both listed web site addresses for the agencies. When you went to them, they looked extremely elaborate and genuine. If you did not know better you could easily be fooled. The layout of both sites was virtually the same except for agency name, logo, address and phone number plus some other minor details. Another scam was reported on Black List page 323 (Ksenia Loginova) by another person that sounds like the same scenario. The address of the travel agency in that scam was in Ekaterinburg. That city seem to be a common thread in these scams. Also, when I compared the internet headers of the letters from the woman to that of the travel agency, they both came from the same place and had identical IP addresses. This was also true in the other scam. Despite repeated reports to Yahoo personals they continue to do absolutely nothing. Not the slightest warning on their site has yet to be posted. I think they should be prosecuted for criminal negligence in letting these scammers have free reign and easy access to all the men on their site. They could easily put a stop to this as MatchDoctor.com did when they started posting prominent warnings on their site. They could even put in a link to this site. It wouldnąt cost them anything and they could prevent many victims of being scammed out of enormous amounts of money. (One has to wonder if they are even being funded or controlled by these scammers!) James G. (Utah, USA)

I have already told you that I work as a surgeon in a city hospital.I do different operations. But I earn not much in our country. About $200 in your money per month. Hello sweety!!! How are you today? How is your week-end. I hope everything is ok. I am very happy to read all your letters for me. Your letters makes my day. Hello my sweetheart!!! How are you today? I am so happy to read your emails. Sorry that I didn't reply to you at once. I think you are very special to me and you are a sweetest man and I always dream about you. I told all about our relationships to my friends and they are very happy to see how I happy I am becoming with every day because of you. I dont know what else I can tell you but my mind full of words of love and nothing else. Every day I hope that all its real and you are not just my imagination. My friends say you hello. I was in travel agency to find out how I can get to fly to you. And be with you on Birthday. Another lady(Yulia Gorohova of Aksakovo ,Russia Lenina Street 22-54) that asked for money for airfare that I have been corresponding with has sent me instructions through a travel agency by the name of "Wings Travel Agency"wings-travel@narod.ru for passport,visa and airfare costs to be sent directly to them. There price(968 USD) is only supposed to be good for 5 days. After 5 days they say the price will go up to 1542USD. As you will notice most all of her photos were not recent judging by the one that looks totally different. I will try to attach her photos and the e-mails from the travel agency. If you know how to report these people to the proper authorities I would greatly appreciate it. The travel agency e-mails included a man's name "Vladimir Islamov,Ufa,Russian Federation with transfer instructions and bank information. I hope this can help in some way to prevent other lonely men from being ripped off. This "lady" has the same address as one of your ladies from Ussuriysk,629500, house49,apt.57. Larry C.
