I am a single Afro-American professional, 41, who was approached by this person out of nowhere through Yahoo Personals. After I started emailing her, her profile from Yahoo Personals disappeared. Her profile stated she lives in Confer, Colorado but later mention she lives in Russia but just used Confer to get into Yahoo Personals. The first email was received on March 19, 2005 and they stopped on May 19, 2005. From the beginning, I knew it was a possible scam when her profile disappears from the personals. On April 21st her tenth email, she started to mention about helping her with payment for her airline tickets to come to visit me. I decided to keep emailing her to see how long it would take for her not to write back anymore. Afterward, I knew Dina was definitely scamming me when she stated that Kompas Travel Agency would make her a visa. I knew only the U.S. Embassy has the authority to make and issue visas. I even received an email from her travel agency showing a copy of her visa. After I did more research, I discovered that this visa was faked, since it showed an American eagle in the background. Visas issued from the U.S Embassy supposed to have a picture of the "Lincoln Memorial" in the background. After I got the information about her Visa, not knowing this one was obviously faked. I contacted the Moscow Consular to check if she does have a visa. They stated they have no record of her applying for a visa. Attached are letters from Dina and the Kompas Travel Agency. Dina never got a penny off of me. The only expenses I used were the money to contact the U.S Embassy Moscow Consular Office ($10 - $15). Watch out for her, she is a very convincing in trying to say she a very truthful person. I am in the process of contacting the enforcement agencies, the embassy, the different websites, and the real Kompas Travel agency about this matter. I suspect the (or he) was busy writing to other men during that time. We both sent many long, romantic love letters and many photos to each other. Spoke very briefly, saying that she was calling from the post office. She claimed not to have a phone at home. I had not fallen in love in 3 years. And I had not composed any music in 3 years. Two days after starting to write to her, I fell in love, and I wrote one of the most lyric and substantial pieces I've ever written. A waltz called
"Nadezhda". I printed out her photos in black and white, and colored them with crayons. Night after night. Writing her name on my notebook in many different
colors, shapes, fonts that I invented; I developed a new hobby of playing around with fonts, letters both in cyrillic and latin alphabets, so that I could produce
"ambigrams" (words that can be read from more than one angle) which spell out her name in cyrillic when read straight, and my name when turned
upsidedown. I wanted to send her a recording and the score of the waltz I wrote for her. I didn't tell her, it was going to be a surprise. I asked for her address, she produced the following:

S/he wanted to come visit me in the States, and claimed she didn't have the money for it. She had very modest and charming ways of asking for the money. She said there was a travel agency in her town who would get her a visa within a week or two, if she purchased her plane ticket through them. The total amount needed was $1550. I first tried to pay the agency directly by credit card. But I was told it would only work if I sent money to her, and she'd pay them. Then I proceeded to send cash through Western Union. I had just sent the money, and was about to drive away, when it occured to me to call the Western Union office and ask for the Western Union branches in
Cheboksary, so that I could give her the address. The Western Union worker who spoke to me was a very nice lady who told me all about these scams, and advised me to withdraw my money, which I did right away. This lady suggested I do a search on the internet for her, which I did right away, and I found
"Nadezhda"s photos ON YOUR SITE, under several names and cities, including: Elena Inyutina of
Iskitim, Elena Kruchinina of Saratov, Anastasiya Pershotkina of Sumara, Valeria Chekaleva of
Cheboksary, Irina Egorova of Kazan, Evgenia of Samara, Natalia
Caregorodceva, Irina Galkina of Sokuv, Ludmilla Tarasova, Olga of Vladimir, Natasha... Thank you so much for the great service you are doing for humanity! I hope these scammers can be stopped before they hurt more people, emotionally and financially. I have reported the case to the dating site I met her in. I took the liberty to give them your website, I hope you don't mind. I believe that Love is everywhere. Inside all of us. I believe we all carry a pure essence of Love inside, and it is Love that we seek in all our actions and interactions with other people. I believe it is the same Love which made me write that waltz, which is also making these scammers decieve and steal from other people. These people need to be healed. I am thinking about sending the waltz to the address anyway. Just in case there is a remote chance I can touch their soul. I want to say "Thank you for re-awakening the Love inside me, and making me compose again. I forgive you in the name of Love. And I will do whatever I can to stop you from hurting other people...." Getting of visa is not a problem, agency takes care about it, and they can get it quickly, but only if I'll buy tickets there. My problem is only a tickets. I feel so bad, I even could think about, that tickets to USA costs on 5 times more, than tickets to Europe. I really don't know what to do! I'm afraid, I feel scared by my feebleness. May 16: My letter to the supposed travel agency who would apply to the US embassy for a visa on behalf of her, and produce her plane ticket as well:
Dear sir or madam, I would like to buy a plane ticket for my girlfriend Nadezhda Mayorova who lives in Cheboksary
(Chuvashia), Russia, to come visit me in Indianapolis, Indiana/USA between June 3 and July 3, 2005. She gave me your email and a phone number: 7-8362-455 967. First important question: Is that your phone number? Or do you have a different number I should call? She told me that if one buys the ticket from your agency, you will send in her visa application to the US embassy, and that it will take 1-2 weeks to get the visa. Is this true? And if so, how much does it cost to get a round-trip ticket and visa (for a Russian citizen) to the United States? Nadezhda said she would stop by your office (in
Cheboksary) today and give you her visa documents. I was intending to pay for her ticket and visa with my credit card today. So I called the number I wrote above, but the lady on the phone didn't speak English. I had a friend who speaks a litte Russian talk to her. She said that they don't book international flights. She said the only travel agencies capable of doing so are in Moscow. I am rather confused. Could you please explain to me how this works? I need to buy this ticket and start the visa procedure immediately, because her travel date is very close: June 3rd.
