After 3 e-mails from what was reported to be an attractive female doctor in Dudinka, I became suspisious and found your site. Story in attached word document. Page 390: Updates 4 May 2005, Page 2 of your site; Marina (Sulut, Russia) and Anastasiya Cheremnih (Dudinka) dated July 2005 (pictures attached), amazing similarities in the letters. A profile originally appeared on microsoft’s match.com which was where the first contact took place. That profile was for someone in the U.S. Almost immediately after e-mail correspondence began the profile on match.com was removed. While I have not sent money and none had yet been requested, no crime took place. Thank you, I am sure you saved me much money and grief.

Dear: Scam Reporting, I am a single guy age 35 years old and live in the United States. I first began emailing Valentina Trankova on about 05/15/2005. I met her thru the Yahoo Personals under ID name: Madi_ival. She sent me a email 5/15/2005 saying that if you would like to learn more about me email me at: madival@mail15.com. We sent emails back and forth to each to each from May 19th to June 19th. On July 7th, 2005, I sent her the $550.00 to pay for half her ticket. It was sent thru Western Union under transaction The next day the money was picked up by Valentina Trankova at Western Union. I received a email thanking me for the money ant that all was well. She would would be flying in to Madison on July, 16th 2005. On July 15th, I recieved this email from Valentina Trankova requesting more money. I then realized that all of this was scam to steal my money and she never had any real intentions of coming to the United States. I then decided not to send her any additional money as I new saddly that this must all be a scam. Description of how you were defrauded: Valentina Trankova promised to come visit me in the United Statesand Vacation with me from July 16th thru the 22nd of July 2005 if I paid for half her airline ticket. I sent her $550.00 thru Western Union. On July 15th, I received a email requesting me to send a additional $1200.00 to pay to cover movingthru Customs to come to the United States. I did not send the $1200.00 as I felt this whole thing was now a scam to defraud me of money. In summary, I was defrauded of $550.00 by Valentina Trankova that was supposedly going to be used to travel to the United States to vacation with me. Bubba, I informed a place of arrival to you to the agent and he has calculated the staying payment for me. It will be for me about 1150 $. It about 600 $, and now is necessary for me, in 8-9 days about 550 $. But I have no more such money.

On July 3rd, 2005, I recieved this email asking me to send money to her thru Western Union. It sound like a legitimate request at the time, so I agreed to send the money. Attached is part of that email:

The agent has told, that in our city some banks are engaged in moving of money from other countries. he has told. That they make it quickly, it demands for them about one day. In our city some system for moving work. It " Western Union ". Tomorrow I shall reach there and to learn, how it to make. I shall inform to you full details about it.

On July 11th, I received this email with her travel information. 
Email: Also remained very few days, only 5 days up to our meeting. And soon I shall go to Moscow, there to sit aboard the plane and to fly to you. My loved, on our meeting and our close acquaintance. And now I with impatience wait for this day. I shall inform to you when I shall go to Moscow. But today my Bubba, I am going to go on Birthday to my girlfriend from work. Viktoriya (Vika) Abrutena (Alushta, Ukraine)

Hello, I was unfortunate enough to have had an experience with a woman claiming to be from Alushta, Ukraine. Her name is Viktoriya Abrutena. I first saw her on a profile she had posted on Match.com. Her user name was "sl4al." I lost thousands of dollars to this woman. I realize much of it was due to my gullibility. The loss of the money is not what hurt most. Feeling emotionally raped is most painful. I know I will probably never recover the money, but I hope something can be done about this woman. It certainly was not her first time. She is very, very good at what she does. I will give you a short summary of events. Vika stated she was a dentist working at a clinic in Alushta, Ukraine. Her mom is supposedly a retired school teacher in Kiev. She says she is divorced with no children and that she knows a friend that got to America through an unnamed firm in Kiev. First, she asked for money to help her go to Kiev to file an application with the "firm." She said she needed $400. $100 for an initial payment to the "firm" and the rest for air fare, etc. She said she would stay with her mum while in Kiev. Upon her return, she said it would take 2 to 3 months for all to be arranged for a visa. In the mean time, her computer supposedly broke so she would email from an "internet club" there in Alushta. She said she was terribly uncomfortable there and asked for help to purchase a new computer. She asked for $1400 to purchase a new laptop. She said she did not have a phone, and if I could help her get a cell phone, we could talk and then when she was to leave Kiev for the US, she would leave it with her mum so she could call her mum. She needed $400 for the phone. She did give me a cell phone number and I spoke to her many times. Then she wanted a "fashionable" leather suit for $400. She became ill and asked for $100 to help her purchase medication. Also, she wanted to hire an English tutor for $200 for lessons. Two 2 hour lessons weekly for 2 months. We corresponded for a total of about 6 months. She emailed me and told me that she was to appear at the "firm" within the next few days. She said this firm trains and assists individuals with obtaining visas and job placement in the US. She said she needed $300 to go to Kiev, $200 to municipal services to obtain a certificate showing the "absence of debts,"in Alushta, $400 for the remainder of the fee to the firm, $100 for " registration of her work," $100 for the medical review, $100 for the interview at the American Embassy. Like a fool, I wired her the money through Western Union. All monies were wired to her name through Western Union, except the last transfer. After a few days, she emailed me supposedly from her mum's in Kiev and stated she had forgot and left the cell phone in Alushta. She also said her mum had no phone and she would have to connect her computer to a neighbor's phone line in order to write to me. She also said her neighbors had a summer residence and she could only write when she could catch them at home. As a result, I got an email only every 3 or 4 days. She said all was going well at the firm and that there was a group of women that were to leave together. She wrote and said she passed her medical, etc. After about 3 weeks, she wrote and said an interview at the American Embassy was scheduled. After a few days, she wrote and said she had passed the interview and had received the visa. She said the "firm" had to make the flight arrangements to the US. She said the whole group of women were to fly to New York and that upon arrival, a representative from the "firm" was to assist them making flight arrangements to their individual destinations within the US. She said she needed $900 for the air fare and then an additional $500 to " present at the customs house to show herself to be solvent" and to also purchase her final flight from N.Y. to my city. I did that, too. 2 days later, she wrote and gave me a scheduled departure date. Two days later, she wrote and said her mum had vision problems and she was going to take her to a reknowned eye clinic, "Filatova", in Odessa, Ukraine, while she waited for the departure date to arrive. She stated that she wanted to help pay for her mum's medical treatment but her mum would not accept it. She said that if I would and could, wire $400 to her mum directly and she could not refuse it. She said to address the wire to "Alla Kolesnik." She said they would pick up the money at 18/21 Kibalchicha, Kiev. She said treatment would take a week and she would be back in Kiev in plenty of time for the departure. I wired that money and then received the last correspondence from her two days later. She said she and her mum had purchased tickets to Odessa and they would leave the next day. She said that when she returned, the cell phone would be waiting for her because she had a friend mail it to her in Kiev. She said she would email me as soon as she got back and give me all the details as to flight numbers, arrival time, etc. I never heard from her again until over two months later. I know that the only reason she contacted me then is because she had seen where I posted her profile on a black list. She told me her mum had died and that she was placed in the hospital with a nervous breakdown. She said that when she returned to Alushta, someone told her of the site where her profile was. I emailed her back and told her to scan the visa she supposedly got, and send it to me. Of course, I never heard another word from her. I did report the incident to the American Embassy in Ukraine. They told me that Vika had never had an interview there. They requested photos, etc., which I sent to them. They said they were turning all the information over to the Fraud Unit.

Still it is necessary for everyone to have with itself 500, for presentation at customs house at a start. To confirm the solvency abroad. As to us have explained each of us for this money will buy the ticket from NY, up to a place of the work. But I shall buy the ticket up to the airport which is closest to your city. I still have time that you have informed me in detail, about that as to me to reach from NY you. As soon as this week we shall pass interview, we should hand over money then will order tickets. But that I did not worry I would like to have the necessary sum this week. Today I have gone to bank to find out as I I can receive translation about you. Went to me to the address. It is: Kiev, street Kibalchicha 18/21. I hope that 1400 you can send me within the next few days and I shall tell in firm that I have necessary money. Well I think that of affairs enough. I want to speak you that very much I miss and I love you. I think of you each day, representing as it will be good us together, my body trembles and is filled with passion. That our flower of love is full of forces and desires to be stronger and beautiful. That we two loving people use the best efforts at last to find our long-awaited happiness.
