I placed a personals ad "Man Seeking Woman" on Craigslist
Moscow. I am a single man 42 years old I just got scammed and sent
over $550 dollars to this one calling herself Alexandra Kotvan. She
said it was for her plane ticket. (She requested $2,000 more a few
days later. Then she/they kept scamming me sending an email from a
friend "Jenny@wantmeet.info" with the same spam title "Greetings, to
european men", same as in the Budashkina story. I replyed being
supsicious that I got spamed again with the exact same initial
message. A few days later this email comes from a woman calling
herself Dasha Versionova "<koza1rus@yahoo.com>", then I got a 3rd &
4th e-mail from someone with the same picture calling herself a
different name. I played along with the "Dasha Versionova" story
cause I suspected it was a gang of Russian Men/Scammers and was
going to have the police arrest them in Moscow at the Western Union
when they asked me for more $$. The final 2 e-mails were sent at the
same instant pretending to be from "racher88@hotmail.com". But after
studying the header information these messages were received from 2
different IP numbers. "cm218-254-27-26.hkcable.com.hk
([218.254.27.26)] (Hong Kong), and the 2nd says "BILL GATES
([61.242.184.1]). They message title was "Fw:Greeting from russia
princess.. (MSN.com)" So I think I have been scammed by a GANG of
SCAMMERS! angela@persmail.info is the new reply e-mail address. I
set up a website: http://russianbridescam.tripod.com with all the
letters, and I am preparing to send my report to the Russian
Embassy, American Embassy, Western Union, and all the domains of the
e-mail addresses being used. THIS IS A RUSSIAN GANG posing as a
woman. An agency addressed they used: Information for Alexandra
Kovtun.

money came about 1 week after her initial letter. I would like to
report a scammer to you organization. I am a singe white American,
no children, 49 years old, employeed full-time. She is after pocket
money and airline tickets to travel to the United States so she can
meet and get married, start a family and get American citizenship.

Story: On January 23 Naysta contacted me through the American
Singles website. She stated to me that she really liked my profile
and asked if we would like to communicate through E-mails to get to
know each other better. A week later she said she was going to
Moscow to complete her visa requirement for travel to the U.S. so we
could then meet. She had never asked for any money during our
E-mails. When she was in Moscow and had supposedly obtained her visa
and went to the airport to come here she stated that there was a
problem and she was told that to leave Russia she was required to
have $1000 pocket money or she would not be allowed to travel. She
then stated that with the cost of her ticket that would only leave
her $580 and she needed another $420 and asked if I could send it to
her and that we could then be together. She also stated that she
would return the money when she got to Chicago and she only needed
it to leave the country and it was a customs requirement. She stated
that after she received the money that she was going to buy her
ticket and fly out the next day. Like an idiot I sent her this money
through Western Union. The next day she contacted me and said she
was going to the airport and buy her ticket. Her next problem then
arises. While at the airport to buy her ticket she told me that she
must by a round trip ticket as to be able to get through customs and
she needed another $659 so she can purchase a round trip ticket and
they will not allow her to leave unless she had this ticket. Could I
help her out so we could be together and that she loved me so much
and just wanted to be with me. I told her that I would purchase her
the round trip ticket and all she would have to do is go to the
Delta airline ticket dest at Sheremetyevo and show her
identification and they would issue her a round trip ticket to
Chicago in her name. Made the reservation for FEB5 for her to fly
out. Well on that day I called Delta reservations to she if she used
the ticket and boarded the plane. She did not. She called me back
that day and said they would not let her use the ticket and she had
to purchase the ticket herself. I told her it does not matter who
buys you the ticket and all you have to do is go to Delta and pick
it up and get on the plane to Chicago. At first I thought she just
my have misunderstood about picking up the prepaid ticket so I
rescheduled her flight to come here for the the next day. Sent her
an E-mail explaining exactly what she had to do step by step.
Checked with Delta today and she did not get on the flight. Went to
Delta in Chicago today and cancelled the ticket and got my refund to
my credit card. I was not going to send her cash. She stated she did
not want for me to have to pay for her ticket and I told her it was
my gift and she could use the money she was supposedly going to
spend on the ticket to shop for herself when she got here. She then
contacted me today stating she could not get on the airplane and she
was told by customs that she must purchase the ticket by herself and
to please send the money so we could be together and be married and
have our children together. She had also sent me an E-mail earlier
in the week with the picture of her visa to travel to the U.S. in
her name with her picture on it. I then contacted the consumer fraud
prevention unit in Moscow about the validity of this visa. Your
guess is as good as mine about the results of this request. Turned
out to be a fraudulent visa and they had no records of anyone with
her name of ever applying for or being granted a visa to the U.S.
I'm pissed. I will be reporting her to every anti scam agency
available along with the FBI, Russian Consulant in the U.S., the

helped by firm Udacha. All documents wait only for acceptance. On
February, 3rd be ready, therefore on February, 2nd, I shall leave
for Moscow for reception of the visa! Also there can be right after
receptions of the visa I shall fly to you! I am not assured yet of
it! I would like to know you better... Tell to me please about
itself! How you represent our relations? What for you the main thing

Hello my dear Tim, Today I have received the visa. Now I have the
complete set of documents for flight in the USA, but I have troubles
with customs house. As I have received the tourist visa for travel I
need to have the return ticket! I have gone to lear cost of the
ticket of the plane, but to me have told that I cannot fly in the
USA because I should have with myself 1000 $ on pocket expenses.
This money is necessary for having only with itself and only so I
can pass through customs house. It is a pity to me to inform you,
but because of this problem my flight in the USA can not take place.
All problem in that that after purchase of the ticket of the plane
also I shall have with myself only 580 $ and through customs house
it is necessary for me for transition more 420 $. I need in your
advice. I can fly in the USA only if I shall have with myself 1000
$. After purchase of the ticket at me remain 580 $, but I shall
require still in 420 $. I tried to find money, but all efforts were
ineffectual. It is a pity to me to inform you about it, but I cannot
fly in the USA without your help. To fly in the USA to me it is
