I ALMOST was scammed of $500.00 from
this Tatsiana Krylova. The pattern was similar to the one posted
from 2005 except there were some new curves to her
scam.
It all sounded so legitimate and plausible with each
new letter. She (whoever this is) played it very cool
for nearly a month of letters some 18 or more in
total.
She started with the yahoo personals leaping platform
going straight to direct e-mail contact. The yahoo
city listed her as "Dallas" but later went to talk
about Minsk Belarus. The letters followed a similar
but shorter pattern in my case and were very
believable. She asked for nothing other than phone
contact after a week of letters. To the phone number
in Brest, so she claimed. I have no idea where the
number really went. (375 336 015 731).
I expected at any point early on for the conversations
to turn to sex, or web pages, or money in some way but
since none of that happened I was lulled into thinking
she was credible with no agenda. Even with the story
line she would buy her grand mother Alexandra in Brest
a DVD player and films for a birthday. Other than
advice what to buy she asked for no money.
She did talk more about the 'agency' for employment as
she was supposedly to fly to Dallas on December 15 and
interview with an Agency to serve a 'family' as a
'nanny' teaching piano as well. Very credible
sounding process interviewing with three families the
first day followed by two the next and then having a
day to decide who she wanted to work for most. Even
a representative from the agency picking her up at the
airport.
My contact with this person though was different in
that as a Christian I tended to talk more about faith
and threw some roadblocks up for anything too fast or
improper. Again, the ploy was elaborate lasting over
a month averaging 2-3 letters a week plus calls on
Sundays in a given 12 hour window. True to form the
calls were hard to place and connections were rough.
Unlike the letters shown from 2005 the 2007 now
approach is a much softer sell and the letters are
much shorter by about half of what was left on this
site.
The big buildup hook was how she would take time after
the job ending with the music employer to visit both
grand mother's, the one in Brest and the one in Vitino
Russia, her supposedly paternal grand mother Ludmilla.
The set up included borrowing a car from her friend Natalia, a Mazda RX 7, and traveling direct to St.
Petersburg and Vitino to stay for a few days. Then
a delay over a few days with no mail other than a
short note. The next letter would be very long.
Here's where her scam became plausible talking about
an 'accident,' on the way back...

"Hello my dear Steve. How are you?
I am not very good. Today is Monday and I write you
from St.Petersburg.
Sorry for my short message on Friday, but I did not
write you more,
because I did not want to make you sad.
As you know, on Friday early morning I wanted to go
back to Belarus
from Vitino. All was good and on Friday early
morning, at 6AM I told "good bye" to my grandma Ludmila, after that I sat in car and leaved Vitino.
At first I drove to gas station near St.Petersburg,
at gas station I
filled up car with gasoline and bought some food and
juice for me. After that I was ready for my trip back
to Belarus and I drove from gas station. I still can't
understand how it happened... but not far from gas
station I did not notice car in front of me and my car
crashed into that car, it was green BMW. I do not know
why it happened, maybe I was tired and that is why I
did not notice that car in front of me, or because
road was slippery, I still cant understand it, but I
know that it was my fault. First minutes I was in
shock and did not understand what happened. It was
terrible. After that I left car and I saw driver of
green BMW, he was very angry and he shouted at me like
crazy, but I can understand him in this situation. I
tried to talk with him and I told him that it is good
that we was not hurt, and also I told him that he do
not need to worry because I will pay him for repair of
his car, but he did not want to listen to me. I looked
at cars, and I saw that car of Natalia had several
damage in front part, but damage was not very serious,
and it is good. But when I looked at green BWM, I saw
that it have a lot of damage in back part. But anyway
I was glad that nobody was hurt, it is most important.
After some time road servise arrived to place of acident. They talked with me and with owner of BMW,
and they wrote several documents. I did not deny that
it was my fault, because it was obvious and I told
that of course I agree to pay for repair of BMW. After
that we drove to St.Petersburg where we visited car's
repair shop. Wokers from repair shop looked at BMW,
they checked all and they told that it will cost 1500
us dollars to repair it. We talked a little bit more,
I told to owner of BMW that it is ok and that I will
pay it. I told him that I cant pay right now, because
I did not have money with me, I told that I need 1-2
days to get money. He was little bit angry again, but
he agreed with me, and we decided that we will meet in
this repair shop on Monday morning at 8AM. After that
I wrote you that sort mesage from internet cafe in
St.Petersburg and I hope that now you understand why I
did not wrote all this to you, I did not want to make
you sad on Friday. Then I came back to Vitino. My
grandma Ludmila was very surprised when she saw me
again, but when she understood what happened she
became very sad, it was very terrible for me, because
I cant see her sad. She love me very much and she
worry about me a lot. But I explained her that it is
not very serious problem, it is simple car acident and
that I will solve this problem.I had only 700 us
dollars and that is why I decided to contact with my
friends in Minsk and Brest and to ask them to borrow
me rest of amount that I need to pay for repair of
BMW. I had whole weekend for it and that is why I did
not worry a lot. On Saturday early morning I came back
to St.Petersburg. I contacted to all my friends in
Minsk and Brest, and
explained them my situation, it took whole weekend.
But I got not good results, some of them told me that
they do not have money right now, and some of them
told me that they want to help me, but cant do it
right now. I was very sad and surprised, because I
helped most of them many times in my life and I did
not expect it from them now. I was very sad about it,
because it showed me a lot. I contacted that woman
from Poland who will buy my piano, but she told me
that she cant pay me now, she told that she will be
able to pay me only on 11 of December. I think that
this weekend was most terrible weekend in my life and
I tired very much. On Sunday vening when I came back
to Vitino from St.Petersburg I felt myself very
terrible, it seemed to me that life is over and I was
very sad. I did not sleep all night, because I thought
about my meeting with owner of BMW, I thought about
what I will tell him on Monday morning. Life is very
difficult thing, all was great, I was very happy past
weeks... and in one second all changed. Why it
happened with me? I asked myself about it many times.
And I did not find answers. Everytime I am very
careful on road, it is my rule, and I cant understand
why I did not notice that car on Friday. Today is
Monday, and at early morning I came back to St.Petersburg. At 8AM I came to repair shop , owner of
BMW allready was waiting for me there, at this time he
was not alone, he was with his wife. I explained them
my situation, I told them that I cant pay them all
amount right now, I told them that I can pay them 700
us dollars now, and that I will pay other part little
bit later, I explained them that they need to wait for
one week more. When they heard it, they become very
angry, they begun to shout at me. I tryed to explain
them all, but it seem to me that it was not possible,
because it was very difficult to talk with them. They
told me that they will not take 700 us dollars, they
told that they need all amount in one time. They told
that they will go to curt, because they do not want to
belive me. When I heard it I became very sad, I do not
need any problems now, because soon will be my trip to
Dallas and it can break all my plans. I tried to
explain them all and I told them that I do not need
any problems now. I asked them to wait for a little
bit more. They did not take 700 us dollars and man
told me that he can give me time till Friday, and that
if I will not pay him till Friday he will go to curt
and will not talk with me anymore again, because he do
not know me and do not want to risk in this situation.
Ofcourse I can understand them in this situation and I
am glad that they gave me time till Friday, anyway it
is better then nothing. I feel myself very bad after
meeting with them, and I am very tired now.
After my meeting with them I though a lot. I thought
about what I can
do now. I do not need any problems now, because it
can break my plans. I get all thigs ready to my move
to Dallas, it was not easy and it took a lot of time.
If because of this problem I will not go to Dallas
now, it will take a lot of time to get all things
ready again, 5-6 monthes. But I do not want to wait
again! And I lost my work in Minsk, I cant come back
to music agency. I feel myself very terrible when I
think about it. I know that I must solve this problem
as fast as I can. This situation is killing me.
It is very hard for me to write all this to you. Very
hard. But I hope
that you will understand me. I do not know how to
start, because it is not easy for me, but I want to
tell you that I decided to ask you for
help. I though about it and I know that I do not have
other ways right

Well, I was torn between the plausibility of this
situation and on the other hand not knowing her to
comply with her request. Another advantage I had to
avoid a scam was a list of Christian missionaries and
churches that could intervene in that part of the
world. My initial response was to offer 'less' than
the $800 she wanted. Just to see what the response
would be. This person isn't stupid -- the response
was brilliant to ease my doubts. She wrote a few
hours later:

very happy when I saw letter from you in my email box.
And I became very happy when I read it. My dear Steve,

grateful to you for your help! Now I do not worry

This is where she had my guard down with the somewhat
sincere thinking way to make up the difference of the
original $800 request. The rest is pretty much the
operating procedure except that "MoneyGram" is now the
preferred way she wants the money sent. She writes:

worked in Germany I used MoneyGram service many times
to send money to grandma Alexandra, it is very easy
and fast service, you just will need to find MoneyGram
office. To send money you will need my full name and
place where I will get money. Here is it:

Place: St.Petersburg, Russia.
After you will send money MoneyGram will give you
special control
number and you will need to send this number to me,
because I will need it here to get money. And also I
will need your full name and full adress. It is most
fastest way to help me now. If you will send money
today I will be able to get them tomorrow at morning.
And tomorrow I will pay to that man for his car and
after that I will be able to go back to Belarus. It
will be great finaly to forget about this accident. I
am very sad that I am not with grandma Alexandra now
and I want to get to Brest as soon as it will be
possible, because I want to spend time with grandma
Alexandra before I will go to Dallas.
Past days was very terrible for me and now I feel
myself very tired. I
want to eat and I feel like I can eact an elephant right now. That is
why now I will find some place where I can eat
anything. And then I will find place where I can sell
my gold ring. And after that I will come
to internet cafe again and will write more. Again I

I agreed in a subsequent letter to work on the
MoneyGram issue but asked several more questions that
she (or whoever this really is) probably became
concerned about. I suggested I'd have 'friends'
there contact her to help mediate the situation. And
asked for an address and phone number where she was.
Then I sent a series of letters over two days with
Actual delays in the process. MoneyGram is new to
this area and I had four locations unable to even know
how to do the process since the equipment was so new.
This Tatsiana then sent an American Greetings
musical/note card thanking me again for the things I
was doing.
In a follow up letter to that I talked about the
delays of sending so much cash to someone unknown and
listed how friends of mine warned me NOT to do so,
talking about the scams so common to these types of
situations. Then I heard nothing from her for two
days.
I finally, after seeking some counsel of missionary
friends decided to send the cash. But delayed
sending the control number or my information. And
then it had been four days since the last letter from
her. So I became suspicious. I ran her name as
a
test on google and was I ever surprised to find over
two dozen responses about the scams, the photos and
the activities. I quickly called MoneyGram's fraud
protection line and in five minutes learned the funds
had not been picked up in Russia and halted it
completely. I had a refund back within 15 minutes.
If I were to give any advice to men (or women) who run
into these situations its to: #1. Run the name of the
person in a google search. #2. Delay the process of
sending money. Make up excuses and/or suggest further
contact information such as phone numbers and
addresses. Of THEM. #3. Never give
out your
contact information (something I did and wish I had
not). I did give my cell number instead of the home
number though my address was given.
One of the things that prevented me from using
MoneyGram online was the requirement of using my
Social Security number (for IRS purposes) but I balked
at that quickly. But what leant me to even consider
helping was knowing several women from Russia who have
been in the US for 7 years and each coincidentally
arrived on December 15, the same day she (Tatsiana/Siana) was to arrive.
I missed being a victim by a few days and perhaps just
a few hours. But I (nonetheless) still feel scammed
and duped. Mainly that it was all 'just a lie' and
the contact (which I enjoyed) was really a template
this person followed.
Like the movie THE STING this was quite a long and
drawn out sting. I expected a scam to take place
more quickly than it actually did. It took over a
month to happen and some 18 e-mails of Siana to me and
as many in return. The phone calls were the
brilliant aspect. But the main tip off I missed were
her return letters never addressing most of my
questions. One or two might be answered but were not
in depth. And I attributed that to a language
barrier and the internet cafe restrictions on time
(which she cleverly used as an excuse for short
letters at times).
In the end, Tatsiana or whoever this person really is
(man/woman who knows) was the one who got Stung! They

This scammer first contacted me on 15th September 2007, 3 weeks ago via
AsiaFuns.com.
For a first contact the message was very reassuring and from experience of receiving scores of African scam messages in the past, I tried my best to see what was going to be the scam with this person, but I couldn’t find fault and decided to continue on this correspondence by email, although I was wary.
Her second email contained a photo claiming it to be her. A picture that could have melted a thousand hearts. She always had a kind of melancholy look on her face in her photos that made one want to feel pity for her and at the same time looking sexy enough to make the heart miss a beat or two.
Her first three emails, she wrote and quoted my name, the next two it was, Hello friend and after that just, Hello.
We continued corresponding and her letters were very professional and convincing, except that I began to realise that she very rarely quoted anything I mentioned in my previous emails to her. In one correspondence she asked me to tell her all about my home City, Chiang Mai in Thailand. I wrote back a long explanatory about where I live, then two days later she wrote again with the same request. I caught on that this person is probably writing the same letters to other people and had got confused. I quoted her about this and she made an excuse in one line, and then changed the subject. I also asked who had taken the photos she sent me because they look very professional, this question was ignored.
After nearly three weeks her letters about how her feelings for me and how much she wants to have my baby, were becoming overwhelming. I was feeling pressured and that this is too good to be true. So I done an Internet search and discovered that she has profiles on many on line dating sites all over the web, most she had checked for messages recently and I was lucky enough to stumble on a site that gave warnings about my so called fantasy email mate, potential lover and future mother of my children from someone whom she had already tried to scam and again, thank goodness was unsuccessful.
This is how I doscovered the scam. Visa and ticket scam.
