Hello. My name is John, and I just wanted to add an update to the entry for Anastasiya Gafarova on
page 392 of your blacklist. She tried the same basic scam on me through Love.org during May. Her letters to me were not completely identical to those she wrote to Dana (the author of the report on page 392), but the gist was the same, as was the amount of money requested. All four of the photographs published under Dana's account on page 392 were sent to me as well. There were a few differences, however: she had a new e-mail address (rozanasnegu@yandex.ru, rather than gafnastya@yandex.ru), and she claimed her home town was Ijevsk (or Izhevsk), rather than Cheboksary. She also told me she was a hairdresser, rather than a postal worker. Love.org has said they will investigate her thoroughly, but I want to make sure no one else is fooled by this woman. Thanks.

I am a single guy, English, 26 yrs old. I have an account on faceparty.com which I check occasionally for messages from friends... one week I found a message from a girl whose name on there is Milayakaty. She left a message saying she was looking for a lonely heart in England. We exchanged mails every day for a week or 2, of which some are word for word identical with the one I have seen on this page for this name already. I was initially suspicious just because of some things that were said in these mails, and the photographs, which a person who knows little about computers and writes in an internet cafe, would not have been able to produce. And now, within 2 weeks, I have found them to be justified. It seems I have done well to catch them this early, as there has been no mention of any money exchanging hands as yet. The final to the story? well, I just sent a mail saying "Unlucky" and the link to where I have found her name and mails on your site! Although of course I am a little upset by this, I would just like to thank you for having a site on which I was able to find this out before (s)he started taking my money! Been looking for a wife internationally for about a year now and have traveled to Moscow before plus I speak some Russian and Spanish. This scammer wrote to me from www.Amigos.com and followed a classic scammer profile. Professing love soon after 3 letters and wanting money for a Visa Travel scam. Took place over only one month (May-June, 2005), she moves fast! I played back with her to verify her full name and address. I pretended to wire money and even gave her a false Western Union MTCN #. I sent no money. She wrote to me from: www.amigos.com They are a Dating/marriage web site affiliated with FriendFinders.com. Screen name: pup676. Letter below is her asking for the money for classic visa scam. Letters are arranged by date from newest (top) to oldest (bottom). The letter on the bottom was were she first asked for money using the Visa travel scam from a giirl friend in a travel agency. I sent her no money but I did pretend to send her money with a fake Western Union Money Transfer Control # so as to cause her to waste time going to pick up a non-existant money gram. I used to just delete them, but I answered a few out of curiosity. I was contacted by this scammer twice. Of course the woman had a different name and lived in a different place each time, but the photo's are the same as are the letters. I am sorry that I threw away the first series of letters, I did not know that this blacklist existed at the time. I never sent any money. It was too obvious to me that this girl wasn't real.

I am a 53 years old divorced man who had a personals ad on Yahoo. I was first contacted by Elena and continued to correspond feeling closer all the time and planning a trip to Russia to see her. It was fairly subtle until she asked for money to go to the Embassy in Moscow. A flag went up for me and I told her that I was afraid I was being scammed and wasn't going to send any money. I had previously sent her a gift and flowers for her birthday. I felt bad that I didn't have trust in her and decided to at least send her two hundred dollars to help with her internet bill. I had made the arrangements on the Western Union site but when it came to the actual send there was a technical difficulty that prevented me from being able to send it. I then started browsing the scam sites and I ran across her picture with another name. Good thing Western Union was not working or I would have been out the cash I was going to send her. I sent her the link showing her picture up on the scam site and she admitted that the letters were hers but she said that she had never asked for any money and she went to the manager of the internet cafe and got a password to prevent further problems. I then did a search on her email address and it came up as another name on the scammer list. Oh how I wanted to believe that she was real but I almost let my lonely heart override my brain.
