So, answer my original question. Would YOU send money to me on the strength of some emails?

The Agency name...? Your family history...your past...your experiences with americans..? Should you choose to terminate a possible relationship over questions of integrity, least of all money, then I have no worries!!

As for the agency details, I'd not better give you their name and contacts because if they get to know that I have a man in the country I am going to they'll never help me with the passport and visa. They will think I'll marry you there and won't return. So if to start with the visa we should do it the sooner the better. I think it occurs to be cheaper than usual tourist visa because they do not charge for the hotel and other services like excursions and something of that kind. As far as I understand they earn their money for the drawing documents such as visa and passport. Visa will be ready in two weeks after paying and will cost $500. And the passport will be ready in 4 days, you know. I am sure to send you the copy of it before we pay for the tickets. And so began the phone calls, prearranged by email, twice a week. I became COMPLETELY sucked in by the phone!! The Yulia I communicated with was sincere, intelligent, wonderfully mature and quite sensual. She also portrayed a very close family and real virtue and character...TRULY!!
And so on Dec 17th, 2001, I sent $700USD to cover all visa/passport expenses. She had me!! Her response was (naturally) gleeful. She loved me for my sincerity and faithfulness...(why wouldn't she!) She was so excited because she had been GUARANTEED to have her visa by Dec 27th. This seemed consistent with my homework as to visa time application. Then again, on Dec 24th I sent $1100USD to cover airfares!! She confirmed that she had a tentative booking for the 29th Dec, meaning we would be together for New Year. This thrilled her like a child!!

I adore you and love you with all my heart. I went to the agency today and I managed to know the flight details to come to you. But I have a very upset piece of news... I am so sorry to tell you this but it is really urgent. I do not have my papers yet in my hands but you should know they are ready and safe. I was warned today that I cannot leave this country until I prove my financial situation. I should show them $1500 US in cash so that they could believe that I am really going to travel but not just to enter your country to make some crime or prostitution. You know, my dearest, such things happen when people from Russia go abroad and start making some illegal business.. That's why it is a rule at the customs to check every person who wants to leave if he has some money for living for the first time. You know, the agency only warned me but it is a rule of our government and besides I got to know today that it is a rule from your part as well as you see I can land in Australia and when your officials ask me if I have some money to live for I will not know what to say... I can be deported back to Russia. At first I was in shock because I thought we have to pay this money but we should only show it as a proof.
I was told that I should only show this money as a proof of my financial stability and I will return you this fund right at the airport when I come to you...As for my tickets details I can come to you already on December,31 to Sydney if we do this law first. I will fly from Ekaterinburg to Moscow on December,29 and will make a change in Bangkok on December,30. So my flight will take me about 24 hours. I know it is long but I really want to be with you and we have little time before the New Year comes.

By now I was in too deep. If I didn't send the money, I stood to lose my
investment at the border! If I had been conned, I would lose anyway. I took the punt! Yulia had cleverly avoided sending copies of tickets etc as she was not due to pick everything up 'til Dec 27th...Dec28th in Australia and two days before her departure! O NO!! You can imagine my shock! Curses...why didn't I listen to Womenrussia. In fact for the first month I did not take Yulia seriously. I considered the age difference too great...but she just kept coming back with a certain naivety and maturity. Makes me wonder who I really communicated with?
I have since asked for repeated confirmation of the mothers story. I requested a hospital, address and number. These have not been forwarded. I suggested that 'til such time as I had this info, I would be treating the matter as fraud and contacting ALL concerned parties. This I have now done. My local police have confirmed no passenger by her name was listed on the flights from bangkok to Sydney. The phone number of the aunty is disconnected.

It is UNBELIEVABLE to think that such a high level of dishonesty and deception could be blatantly considered, least of all executed by these "sweet" foreign ladies - but it does! And, like me, there are ALWAYS suckers to keep feeding them. Still, if EVERYONE who has had a bad experience make enough noise, we can help make it easier for the many genuine ladies who simply desire, like us males, to meet someone genuine!

My name is Al. I am a single computer technician from New York, who joined match.com with no intention of seeking a Russian bride. Then the letters started.I was not actually scammed but only because I got lucky and stumbled across the anti-scam guide in time, but she certainly tried hard.The same woman, using the name Tatyana Tsaregorodseva, contacted J.J. Hemingway the same way. He wasn't as lucky as I was.
I received these letters from a woman claiming to be Yana Volkova. You may notice that they are virtually identical to the letters sent to J.J. from Tatyana. You may also notice that both women are from the same city, Novosibirsk, they both lost their fathers exactly the same way, they both have the same job in the same hospital, they both have the same date of birth although neither of them has a sister, and they both have a grandfather named Fedor. The one difference is that I got lucky and found the anti-scam guide before she did any damage, so there is no reference to "thank you for the money". These are form letters used by a scammer to get American dollars, period. Neither of these women exist.
If you receive letters like this from any woman from Novosibirsk, do not send money and do not develop any emotional attachment. The woman does not exist. You are corresponding with a criminal. You can respond if you like, but you should know that you are wasting your time. Or if you want to do something good, when you get the first "send me money" letter, send "her" a fake Western Union MTU number and alert Russian authorities so they can arrest the criminal when she comes to pick up the money. I was going to do that myself after I developed the idea jointly with J.J., but she gave up on me and stopped corresponding before I had the chance.

I am also one of the many who have been scammed by this lethal gal or person.
I have recently broken up with my girlfriend and decided to join the
MATCH.COM Web site. I am 40 years old and was not interested in a women from
Russia let alone a 28 year old women. (First Warning) The second day I
joined the web site Yana sent me an email exactly like the other Introductory email she sent to others saying how she liked my structure.
She had a site name of TNT2002. She told me to send an email to her personnel account at
yanochka@fromru.com We continued to send several emails to each other learning about each other. She sent me a picture of
her self with each email. She was attractive but nothing spectacular, it was more of a thrill to
be talking to a Russian women half way across the world. Yana lives with her mum, her father died on an expedition when she was young. She
has a grandfather named Fedor. Yana claims to work in a hospital helping
young children. Yana claims to have a boyfriend who was having an affair
and for two years she has not dated. About the fifth letter she wants to
marry me!! I was taken back by this and told her this was too soon, but
her passion was too strong to hold back and had to tell me. She is very
lonely for me and wants to be with me. She then leads into wanting to come to the USA to see me. She then sends a provocative picture in the
bathing suit by Crimea which borders the Black Sea. I then took the bait
and offered to help her come to the USA. She goes to the embassy with $50 to start the registration process. She needs $378.20 to process the
passport quickly. She told me to sent money via Western Union to Yana Volkova, Sovetskaya Street 54-102, Novosibirsk, Russia. She then ends
the letter with a sexual dream she asks if I had the same dream. The dream is the same on another letter she sent to one of her victims. We
then send emails to each other with mention of money. She sent a poem about our love.
The next letter she said the embassy said it is time to send money for
round trip tickets and flight insurance of $370. Total cost of flight
and insurance $1470. I was still pushing back the marriage subject but
was willing to fly her out to Colorado to meet her for a few weeks. Yana
wanted to meet for Christmas and asked the airport we would meet at in
Denver. I wired the money again through Western Union. Yana normally wrote to me every 2-3 days like clockwork. But this time she didn't
write for five days. I sent an email asking for her immediate response.
She sent a letter and apologized and said the email system she did not
trust. She then said she had to go to Moscow to get passport and would
write from Moscow informing of the flight schedule. Yana never wrote back after my attempts to communicate. My last letter gave her three
days to return my money or I was going to inform the authorities in USA
and Russia. Yana apparently has much confidence in the lack of quality
of Russian police for she did not send back the money about $1900. Yana
continues to scam people. I have notified Match.com they have documented the complaint. I have notified Western Union security dept.
The women at the WU international help desk said there is nothing wrong
when a women changes her mind about using the money for other reasons and that I should just back off. I told the lady I disagreed and that
there is fraud, deceipt and thieft involved here. She said I had to prove it! I sent in a claim to the www.ifccfbi.gov Have not heard from
them but it has only been two days and tomorrow is Christmas so hopefully they will respond. I plan to send information to the USA
Russian embassy. This gal has apparently only been operating for a few
months and has made over $5000 plus the additional dollars from guys who
have not yet found this site. Unfortunately I found this site three weeks too late. I plan to inform the FBI of this site for research
purposes. I also talked to a US lawyer he was basically telling me to inform the Russian Consolate or take the beating and walk away. There is
also other intelligence I have gained from this site that will be added
with my claim to the FBI. Hopefully the others who have encountered this disturbed person will report there intelligence to the FBI. The FBI
apparently is the only agency that works on international cases. If there is an American who saw this site before sending her money or is
currently communicating with her please contact me at smichael46@qwest.net
so we can gain more intelligence to strengthen this case.
